Gonstead Meeting of the Minds-VII October 9-10, 2010
The Gonstead meeting of the Minds is less than one month away. If you have not yet registered, please contact Michele (michele@gonstead.com) to let her adequately plan for the meeting. Be sure to follow-up with any doctors who you think are or could be serious Gonstead chiropractors and encourage them to register.
The Gonstead Meeting of the Minds is the seminar that exists to serve you in six ways:
1. MoM is a no-bull, all Gonstead Chiropractic gathering. There is not one second of filler, hype, artificial flavors or dyes.
2. The topics are contemporary and relevant for the advanced Gonstead practitioner.
3. You will support the only research program by a Gonstead organization, tailored to help you in your daily patient practice and in the world of health “politics”.
4. You will be part of the force that is responsible for advancing Gonstead principles into the future, while respecting all those who have come before us.
5. You will surround yourself with some of the best and most dedicated practicing chiropractors.
6. Get relicensing out of the way with 12 hours of CE credits.
It is worth mentioning that The Sherman Chiropractic Lyceum IRAPS (International Research and Philosophy Symposium) takes place on campus the same weekend and is in itself a world famous Chiropractic event. Many of us plan to attend their semi-formal Saturday night banquet. The Chiropractic energy will be off the charts. You may practice very differently after having attended this seminar.
I can honestly say that after coordinating six successful Meeting of the Minds, this one will be a rare event the likes of which may never occur again.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, contact Michele at the GCSS Executive Office. Do not allow yourself, or any qualifying Gonstead doctor, to snooze or procrastinate on registering for this event. The program will be unforgettable and completely outrageous.
Charles Martin, DC - Meeting of the Minds Committee Chair
"Aspects of the Chiropractic Subluxation—The Clinical, Physiological, and Theoretical Breakdown"
The Seventh Annual “Gonstead Meeting of the Minds” sponsored by the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society will take place on October 9 and 10 at Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC. The formal meeting convenes on October 9 and 10 with several doctor/student activities scheduled for Friday afternoon and evening, October 8. The feature topic of the weekend is “Aspects of the Chiropractic Subluxation—The Clinical, Physiological and Theoretical Breakdown.” To our good fortune, the annual IRAP (International Research andPhilosophy) symposium will be held on the Sherman campus the same weekend, so we will be treated to some of the profession’s most knowledgeable doctors on subluxation philosophy and theory.
We are calling for interesting cases you have treated during your course of practice. One of the great opportunities afforded by MoM is to share with others (in detail) some of the more amazing things we accomplish in our offices.
Last year, Dr. Rick Elbert showed how adjusting subluxations in a patient with multiple fractures of his pelvis and a fractured femur using the Gonstead technique facilitated his recovery and minimized malformations of the pelvis. Dr. Dave Abblett presented the case of a patient with a Harrington Rod and how it was managed utilizing the Gonstead technique. This year, we will have time in the schedule for the presentation of 3-6 cases. If you have an interesting/complicated case or two to share with your peers, inform Dr. Charles Martin of their circumstances at your earliest convenience. If you have not formally done this before, let Dr. Martin know and he will supply you with some simple presentation guidelines (Email bakview@juno.com or call 831-373-7756).
The very popular “Ultimate Pit Class” returns to MoM. Utilizing video playback and large screen projectors, this session assists doctors to refine, restore specificity and “crispness” to their adjusting.
On Sunday, small groups of doctors will share their experience and expertise, answering questions of some of the most gifted chiropractic students from Sherman College and Life University. Like past meetings, there will be a special guest speaker who will share first-hand experiences of Dr. Gonstead. This year’s speaker will be Richard Cranwell, DC of St. Louis MO who spent three years at the Gonstead Clinic with Dr. Gonstead.
The "ChiroStory Cam” will be running in the hallway throughout the weekend to record the highlights and interesting events of your Chiropractic life/experiences.
Because it is a participatory event, MoM is open solely to GCSS Fellows, Diplomates, and Diplomate-Candidates, as well as, Gonstead chiropractors who have been in practice at least 20 years.
There will be GCSS Diplomate testing on Saturday, October 9. If you don’t yet meet the attendance qualifications, there’s still time to become a Diplomate Candidate. Pre-arrangements for testing are required. For questions and more information about the GCSS Diplomate program, contact Dr. Patrick Ryan, Diplomate Committee Chair at 201-841-0582 or drpatrick@ryanchiro.com.
It is tradition for MoM to sponsor its free Friday night (October 8) “Student-Masters Workshop”. MoM Doctors share their years of expertise with students, the next generation of doctors. Everyone is invited to attend the Friday night Pizza Party following the workshop.
Pre-registration is $295 if paid by October 1 or $325 after October 1, 2010. For registration questions or assistance please contact Michele Hohmann (call 888-556-4277 or E-mail michele@gonstead.com) Attendance at MoM-VII qualifies for 12 hours of continuing education credits for re-licensing in most states. Please call 888-556-4277 to verify your state’s eligibility.
If you have ever attended Meeting of the Minds you know you will need to mark your calendar and reserve the dates NOW. If you have not attended, this year’s MoM is the best time to start!
All proceeds from MoM fund the research that illuminates and explains what you do for your patients everyday. Speakers donate their time and pay their own travel and accommodation expenses. The fun and fellowship are outrageous. Don’t miss it! Reserve the weekend of October 9-10 and join us in South Carolina.
