Meeting of the Minds
(Doctors: On this page you will find specific information about the meeting, the current topic, speakers and meeting schedule. You can also register now, read a review of the last meeting and testimonials, view photos from past meetings and see hotel/airport suggestions.)
This annual event is sponsored by the GCSS and takes place in various cities in the US. The purpose of the Meeting of the Minds is to create a forum for a serious discussion of specific aspects of the Gonstead System. Each year the meeting has a different topic for discussion with guest presenters, speakers, panels, and research updates.
The Meeting of the Minds is an opportunity to learn from many of the Gonstead system’s longest practicing and accomplished Doctors. Because it is a participatory event, MoM is open to GCSS Fellows, Diplomates, Diplomate-candidates, and any Gonstead chiropractor who has been in practice at least 20 years. Membership with the GCSS is not a pre-requisite.
Register now for this great weekend or by E-mailing michele@gonstead.com, or by telephone. Domestic callers use the toll free 888-556-4277. International callers should call 831-476-1873. If you have questions or program ideas and input contact Charles Martin, DC bakview@juno.com.

The Seventh Annual “Gonstead Meeting of the Minds” sponsored by the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society will take place on October 9 and 10 at Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC. The formal meeting convenes on October 9 and 10 with several doctor/student activities scheduled for Friday afternoon and evening, October 8. The feature topic of the weekend is “Aspects of the Chiropractic Subluxation—The Clinical, Physiological and Theoretical Breakdown.” To our good fortune, the annual IRAP (International Research and Philosophy) symposium will be held on the Sherman campus the same weekend, so we will be treated to some of the profession’s most knowledgeable doctors on subluxation philosophy and theory.
We are calling for interesting cases you have treated during your course of practice. One of the great opportunities afforded by MoM is to share with others (in detail) some of the more amazing things we accomplish in our offices.
Last year, Dr. Rick Elbert showed how adjusting subluxations in a patient with multiple fractures of his pelvis and a fractured femur using the Gonstead technique facilitated his recovery and minimized malformations of the pelvis. Dr. Dave Abblett presented the case of a patient with a Harrington Rod and how it was managed utilizing the Gonstead technique. This year, we will have time in the schedule for the presentation of 3-6 cases. If you have an interesting/complicated case or two to share with your peers, inform Dr. Charles Martin of their circumstances at your earliest convenience. If you have not formally done this before, let Dr. Martin know and he will supply you with some simple presentation guidelines (Email bakview@juno.com or call 831-373-7756).
The very popular “Ultimate Pit Class” returns to MoM. Utilizing video playback and large screen projectors, this session assists doctors to refine, restore specificity and “crispness” to their adjusting.
On Sunday, small groups of doctors will share their experience and expertise, answering questions of some of the most gifted chiropractic students from Sherman College and Life University. Like past meetings, there will be a special guest speaker who will share first-hand experiences of Dr. Gonstead. This year’s speaker will be Richard Cranwell, DC of St. Louis MO who spent three years at the Gonstead Clinic with Dr. Gonstead.
The "ChiroStory Cam” will be running in the hallway throughout the weekend to record the highlights and interesting events of your Chiropractic life/experiences.
