Gonstead Extravaganza 2009
By: Peter T. DeLoe, DC
Extravaganza: a spectacular show. By definition, that is exactly what will be taking place at the Gonstead Clinic on April 25th and 26th, 2009. The Gonstead Extravaganza will be a seminar like no other for several reasons. First, there will be about twenty doctors from all over the country to lend their expertise. Secondly, this group of doctors is a team effort between the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society and the Gonstead Methodology Institute. A combined effort of this magnitude has never been done before.
The seminar will be similar to last years highly successful Extravaganza at Life University where multiple classes will be conducted simultaneously. As is typical of GMI seminars, there will be a primary class on the Cervical Chair, which will be continuous throughout the weekend and held in the main lecture room. Multiple doctors will be present to give the one-on-one attention the students need to become proficient in this important aspect of the Gonstead work. In addition, instructors who have been teaching continuously for many years will conduct multiple classes throughout the weekend. Doctors Rick Elbert and Lydia Dever (X-ray analysis), Roger Kasperbauer (Pelvic bench), Jeanne Taylor and Dan Lyons (Knee Chest), Linda Mullin and Patrick Ryan (Pediatrics), Dennis O’Hara, Pam Troxell and Perry Chinn (Case Management) are all seasoned professionals (greater than 200 years of combined experience) who will bring their unique qualities to this huge seminar. What makes this seminar very special though is the impressive list of Gonstead doctors who have been in the field for many, many years but have not taught at a GMI or GCSS seminar for a long time. Dr Herb Wood will be lending his thirty-five years of experience to the Pelvic Adjusting class. Since moving to Colorado, Dr. Wood has been away from teaching and his return to Mt. Horeb is met with great anticipation. Dr. Gary Pennebaker can be referred to as the doctor’s doctor. Often presenting his wealth of knowledge to other Gonstead practitioners, students will be in awe of his depth of experience with case management. Dr. Steve Rindal, from Washington State, is another “first-generation” Gonstead doctor, with greater than thirty-five years of experience who will be presenting more case management information for the weekend. His reputation for meticulous and precise observation has no equal, and if this author is free during this busy weekend it is with Dr. Rindal that you will find me!
The bottom line is this; Regardless of your of experience, there will be a class that will elevate you to a new level at this seminar. This seminar is unlike anything I have seen in my twenty years in the Gonstead work. A union of two Gonstead organizations, with their best instructors teaching, and three special guests who all spent time learning from the master himself. Dr Gonstead will be smiling down upon us on April 25th and 26th! I hope he sees you there! It will be a spectacular show indeed!!
